In Loving Memory to Achielles

Thank you for being my dog. You were always there for me. You taught countless numbers of dogs through your demonstrations and your loyalty knew no boundries. You taught me many lessons and I can only hope to pass on what you taught me. I will miss you for the rest of my life. Wait for me at Rainbow Bridge and I will be sure to bring plenty of Hot Dogs and Cheese.

Achielles was a remarkable dog. I found him at the Rolla Pound when he was just 4 months or so of age. He had been found wandering on a city street and the pound picked him up and labeled him as a Lab mix. As you can see, he was no mix! We weren't really sure of his birthday and I chose Valentine's Day as it was close to his estimated age. Through the AKC's ILP program I got a registration for him so that I could show him in AKC events. Achielles had excelled at obedience work and has numerous placements and several High Scoring German Shepherd awards.

Achielles was a once in a lifetime dog. His devotion to me was remarkable and his work ethic is surpassed by none. Achielles lived to work. He put up with me for nearly 12 years and I will miss him for the rest of my life. He truly was extraodinary.

He was often my "guinea pig" in new dog sports. He did some Schutzhund, Flyball, Agility and Rally-O which he has one leg in. We never did get to that last show for the title. He earned it in more ways than one anyway.
