Lori & JesiBeginner Obedience Class: Cost -$100.00

This is an 8 week long class held once a week for approximatly one hour. You and your dog will learn how to teach: Sit, Down, Come, Stay, Loose leash walking, Leave-it, Go to Bed and more! Behavior problems such as: Jumping, barking, digging, housetraining chewing and others are also discussed and you learn how to prevent or stop the problem behavior. This class is perfect for dogs of any age who don't listen. You and your dog will work toward creating a better relationship while your dog learns to listen to you consistantly. If you have dreamed of your dog responding to your commands the first time you give them, no matter the distraction, this is the class to start with. This is a fun class and if you are interested in Agility, you must have completed at least one full Beginner course.

 Introduction to Agility:  Cost -$125.00

In this 8 week class you will learn how to start training you and your dog for competition agility. All breeds and mixes allowed. You will learn how to teach your dog the standard agility obstacles including jumps, tunnels, weave poles and contact obstacles. You will also learn how to start putting the obstacles together and how to handle your dog, communicating effectively so that you may encourage your dog's enthusiasm for the sport of agility. Whether you want to compete, or just have fun with your dog this is the perfect class to get into! Prerequisite: Beginner's Obedience or Instructor Approval

Canine Good Citizen Class: Cost - $75.00 (includes price of test)

This is an 6 week long class held one night a week for approximatly one hour. CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. You and your dog will practice the CGC exercises:  Accepting a friendly stranger, Sitting politely for petting, Appearance & grooming, Out for a walk (loose leash walking), Walking through a crowd, Sit and down on command and Staying in place, Coming when called, Reaction to another dog, Reaction to distraction and Supervised separation. This class is perfect for continuing your dog's education. You and your dog will work toward creating a better relationship while your dog learns to listen to you consistantly. As you work with your dog to teach the CGC skills, you'll discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. Training will enhance the bond between you and your dog. Dogs who have a solid obedience education are a joy to live with-they respond well to household routines, have good manners in the presence of people and other dogs, and they fully enjoy the company of the owner who took the time to provide training, intellectual stimulation, and a high quality life. We sincerely hope that CGC will be only a beginning for you and your dog and that after passing the CGC test, you'll continue training in obedience, agility, tracking, or performance events. Pre-requisite: Beginner's Obedience or Instructor Approval.

Dogs & Puppies must be up to date on Vaccinations, be free of internal & external parasites: for all classes.

 

Specialty Classes:

Tricks for Treats!
This is a class for dogs of any age that have been through a Beginner's Obedience class, with Canine Connections or elsewhere. It is a fun class lasting 6 weeks. Tricks are taught using verbal makers or clickers (provided) and includes about a dozen different tricks for you and your dog to learn! The great thing about this class is it gives your bored dog something else to learn for fun and really enhances the bond between the two of you. Cost is $50 for the 6 weeks.

Competition Dog Obedience
In this class you will learn how to start training you and your dog for competition obedience. All breeds and mixes allowed. You will learn footwork, how to keep your dogs attitude up with games and other techniques. You will also learn the rules of showing in AKC, UKC, AMBOR and SchH. Whether your dog is a seasoned competitor with whom you would like to perfect the performance for the ring, or a beginner, you will learn how to get those high scores and reliable performances.
Class is held upon need/demand. For people interested in seriously training for competition, sometimes special considerations are made and you may go directly into this class without going through the levels, depending on you and your dogs level of previous training. Talk to the instructor to determine if this is something you wish to do. 

 Introduction to Agility

In this class you will learn how to start training you and your dog for competition agility. All breeds and mixes allowed. Conformation Handling Class
For dogs and puppies of all ages.

The course meets one night a week for 8 weeks, lasting from 1/2 hour to an hour depending on number of students enrolled. This is a traditional style class.
Dogs and puppies must be current on vaccinations and free of internal and external parasites.

In this class, some of the things you will learn are how to present yourself and your dog for judging at a conformation show. You are taught how to present your dog to the judge for examination to show your dogs best attributes. You also learn how judging is done and the rules of the conformation ring. Grooming is also covered. This class prepares you for going in the ring, whether for the first time or if you are a seasoned competitor and just need to get a new dog out in a ring situation with other dogs. Dogs are taught how to stack for presentation and also to accept the examination a judge will do. Dogs also become accustom to other dogs in the ring and learn to show around other dogs. Class is held upon need/demand.  The cost is $80.00 for the 8 weeks.

Free Dog/Puppy Training!

Free One Hour Session at your home for you and your new Dog or Puppy from the Rolla Animal Shelter .
Proof of adoption is required. This offer expires One Month after Adoption date.

 

Classes are held year round. Specialty classes (Competition and Handling) held when 2 or more people are interested. You must call, email or fill out Online Registration form so we know what you want to learn!

There is no guarantee of your dog's training. I cannot control what you do at home with your dog. I can only give you the information for you to put to use and help you understand how to use it. Also, we must remember that dogs are perfect at being dogs, not perfect robots, they will make mistakes on occassion so I cannot in all honesty, guarantee you a trained dog. The training is up to you and I cannot control everything you do, especially when you are at home.

Cancellations received less than one week before start date will receive a partial refund only.
You may switch to a different night if one is available.
